We were commissioned by RTE to make a short film about Mary Elmes as part of the Herstory movement which tells the stories of historic, mythical and modern women.
Mary Elmes, a Corkwoman and Trinity scholar, turned her back on a brilliant academic career to volunteer in two of the 20th century’s worst conflicts. During the Spanish Civil War, she set up and ran children’s hospitals. During World War II she continued to help refugees and later risked her life to save Jewish children from deportation.
The short stop motion animated film was screened in the Epic Museum and broadcast on RTE2. It is available to watch on the RTE Player. Click below to watch the film in full.
A Terrible Hullabaloo was produced as part of the Irish Film Boards After '16 initiative.
The film has screened at numerous international film festivals and won best animated short film at Grand Off International Film Festival in Warsaw, and the Fingal Film Festival in Dublin
It is now available to watch in full on the IFI player, click on the link below to watch
